Summer is slowly closing, and with it the looser holiday routine, when everyone came whenever they could make it. Dielničky (our workshops for kids and parents) are returning to their regular Tuesday rhythm — just the way we’re used to.
Next we meet on Tuesday, September 29, right at Monáda. We’ll start inside, at the table, and once everyone has warmed up and eaten, we’ll head outdoors — while it’s still light and still pleasant.

You can taste autumn
Children have the advantage of not reading the seasons from a calendar — they read them from whatever is close at hand. And right now autumn is close at hand: chestnuts, acorns, colorful leaves, squash, apples. We don’t need to explain anything; it’s enough to put it on the table.
Right now our kitchen smells of squash and baked apples, so there’s a good chance part of the afternoon will happen exactly where kids like it best — by a mixing bowl, with their hands in the dough.
Outside, while we can
The second half belongs to the outdoors. We’ll go to the park to gather whatever we can find — chestnuts, rose hips, leaves — and what we bring back usually ends up as something of the child’s own to take home. It isn’t planned down to the minute. The kids set their own pace; we just hold the frame.
When the weather turns and it gets cold or wet, we’ll move indoors. Nothing gets canceled — it just moves next to the stove.
What comes next
We’re sticking with what works: we meet every Tuesday — one week right at Monáda, from where we head out to the park or the forest, and the next at a cottage by the forest, where we go mainly to slow down. This time it’s Monáda’s turn; a week later, the cottage.
If you haven’t been with us yet, feel free to just come and have a look. You don’t need to bring anything or know anything — just come and stay as long as it suits the kids.
You’ll find more about Dielničky at dielnicky.sk. We wrote about how and why they came about in the article Dielničky — roots and wings.
