Some things you don’t plan. They simply grow — out of the way you live and where you spend your time. That’s how Dielničky (our children’s workshops) came to be: organically, beside Monáda, out of an environment that had been here all along.
One of the reasons we took it on is our Jasmína.
One and the same life
For her, Monáda has always been a natural place. It’s not “a café they sometimes take her to” — it’s where her parents go to work, and her aunt, and her grandmother too. She’s growing up among adults she loves, who are here doing what they do.
For her, that blurs a line most of us were handed ready-made somewhere along the way: the line between work and raising children. For us, these aren’t two separate worlds. It’s one and the same life.
Work that fulfills
And that’s exactly what we want to show her now — while she’s little and still takes it completely for granted. That work which fulfills you isn’t really “work” in the heavy sense of the word. It’s talent flowing naturally into something that gives people a living, gives us meaning — and that we enjoy.
At Monáda you can see it quite literally: here, talent turns into food, into aromas and flavors, into something that nourishes others. We want Jasmína to grow up feeling that this is how it should be.
Roots and wings
Dielničky carry the same idea forward, just opened up to other kids as well. Their subtitle is roots and wings — a safe, regular place where children play, try things out and create at their own pace, and grow along the way.
Since the moms who lead them are part of Monáda, you can smell food at every gathering, and the kids sometimes learn to cook, too. We meet every Tuesday — one week right at Monáda, from where we head out to the park or the woods, and the next at a cottage by the forest, where we go mostly to slow down and put down roots.
And since almost everyone who comes to Monáda regularly knows Jasmína, it probably won’t surprise anyone that she is the heart — and a bit of the motto — of these Dielničky.
