Our driver Bolek is turning fifty — and he's inviting you too

Peter, our driver, invites all Monáda fans to a beautiful spot just over the hill — his cottage in Horné Paseky near Senica.

Peter is our driver. He’s the one who brings you your lunches — and always a bit of good cheer along with them. This time he isn’t delivering lunch but an invitation: in July his life tips over into a new chapter, and he’s inviting all Monáda fans to a beautiful spot just over the hill — his cottage in Horné Paseky, out in the scattered hillside hamlets near Senica. From here on, we’ll let him tell it himself.

An invitation firsthand — Bolek shows you around the garden and the cottage.

Dear friends,

in July I turn fifty.

I’m planning the party at our cottage in Horné Paseky — a place where for several years now we’ve been hosting gatherings full of good-spirited beings. Every year a handful of beautiful people come together here. This year it’ll be a little louder.

Bring your kids. Grandma, grandpa. Your sweetheart. Bring the whole family and the dog, too.

The kids will be building a dam in the creek — as always. Every year there’s also a contest for the dirtiest kid, so don’t forget to pack a change of clothes. The little ones usually discover a crayfish or two as well. Yes, the water is that clean.

A place with no signal

Horné Paseky is one of the few places where your phone won’t ring. So please check ahead of time where you’re going and make sure you have the right address — nobody there will pick up the phone. So far, though, everyone has found their way.

I’ve never really celebrated my birthday. This will be my first big hellooooo — hello to the world, that my life is tipping over into a new chapter.

It may be my birthday, but it doesn’t matter at all if you don’t know me personally. Come experience a unique place — the cleanness, crayfish in the creek, a whole day of wandering, talks, music, meditations, fun, and above all, good food.

During the celebration I’ll also introduce my newest project — the book Sleeping Phoenix, in which I’m gradually describing the changes we’re going through, what they mean to me personally, what the future means to me, and how I see it.

Practical · The party

Bolek's fiftieth at the cottage

  • When: Saturday, July 18, 2026
  • Where: Horné Paseky 225, Prietrž — the hillside hamlets near Senica, just over the hill
  • Heads up: there's no signal on site — look up the way in advance, nobody will pick up the phone there
  • Who to bring: kids, grandma, grandpa, your sweetheart — the whole family and the dog, too
  • What to pack: a change of clothes for the kids — the dirtiest-kid contest has a long tradition
  • Admission: absolutely everyone who feels called by this place is invited
  • Photos from the cottage: see the album

I have a feeling a truly strong lineup of beings might come together there. Don’t hesitate — spread the word.

Invite everyone who comes to mind. Share it. Invite the people you sense will love it. I’m looking forward to seeing you.

By the way, I was born on July 17, 1976, at 4:50 a.m. in Myjava.
