Twice during the day you can sit down to tea with us — once for an introduction to the craft, once just to unwind completely. No theory, no pressure, just tea and good company.

Our tea stop is part of Hand Made Rínek — a day full of original work, music, conversations, art and community experiences. On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the park in Senica turns into a craft market with local products and handmade goods, a food zone, two stages and plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. Amid all that day-long bustle, we’ll carve out two quiet little islands over tea — one in the morning, one in the late afternoon.

What is GongFu?

GongFu cha translates roughly as “making tea with attention and skill.” It isn’t a ceremony full of strict rules — more a way of giving the tea, and yourself, a moment of full attention. It’s brewed in a small vessel, with the leaves steeped briefly and several times in a row, so the same tea gradually reveals different sides of its flavor. It’s not about performance or perfection; it’s about presence — slowing down, noticing the aroma, the warmth of the cup and the moment that is happening right now.

☕ An introduction to GongFu tea — a new look at an everyday drink

10:00 – 11:00

We all know tea. But what if we made it a little differently? In this shorter session we’ll go through a few classic ways of preparing tea GongFu style — without complicated theory and without diving into thousands of kinds of tea. No tests, no performance. We’ll simply show how to turn an ordinary drink into a small ritual you can easily repeat at home.

Suitable for complete beginners. Just come and take a seat.

🍃 An open tea session in the fresh air

16:00 – 17:00

At the end of the day, we’ll slow down. An open tea gathering under the open sky, with no pretense — people talk among themselves while Daniel prepares tea and answers questions, if any come up. We won’t go into the details of particular teas or tasting; it’s more about the atmosphere and a moment of calm in the park. Come just to relax — and see where the tea takes us.

Danylo Danylejko

A cook at Monáda. From the age of seven he lived in Moscow, and before that in Ukraine — but his greatest loves turned out to be cooking and tea. He has devoted many years to the art of tea, and today he also teaches at Monáda how to savor tea and notice its effects on body and soul. For many teas he can tell you which province they come from and how they were grown or harvested — and for some he even knows the farmer's name.
